9 Reasons to Visit Jamaica Inn This Year

March 9, 2016

With our exquisite setting on the Caribbean Sea, one-of-a-kind activities and rich history, we invite you to see for yourself why Condé Nast Traveler recently named our resort among the 16 Most Romantic Hotel in the World. Below are our top 9 reasons why you should make Jamaica Inn your home-away-from-home in 2016:

1. Famed Destination.

Known as the “Centerpiece of Jamaica,” Ocho Rios is becoming increasingly popular and trendy.  With its natural beauty, abundant waterfalls, botanical gardens and and unique excursions, it’s no wonder several hit TV shows have recently filmed in Ocho Rios.

2. Easily Accessible.

With many non-stop flights available, including new American Airlines service from Los Angeles, it’s easy to reach Ocho Rios. With new highway access, our resort is located only an hour and a half away from both the Montego Bay (MBJ) and Kingston (KIN) international airports. Kingston’s airport has recently taken huge strides to approve its efficiency, safety and facilities, becoming the most improved airport in the Caribbean for 2015, according to Airport Council International (ACI).

Our personable staff are passionate about Jamaica, the Inn and our guests, continually going above and beyond expectations. We have 13 staff members who have each been with our Jamaica Inn family for more than 30 years, and our bartender Teddy has been providing Jamaica Inn with his exemplary service for 57 years. Our staff’s love and dedication to the Inn make the difference between a good and a great vacation.

9. Unique History

Our colonial-style boutique hotel is bursting with history and old-world charm. Since 1958, Jamaica Inn has been owned and operated by three generations in the Morrow family and hosted several prominent guests, including Marilyn Monroe and Sir Winston Churchill. The Inn is also famous for our Black Labrador mascot. A few years ago, we happily welcomed Shadow IV to the Jamaica Inn family, and our new furry friend eagerly greets each and every visitor.

Oh to return again for our third visit is a blessing. Nothing compares to being pampered so graciously while nestled amongst the beauty of this incredible place. And the staff make it perfect every time. See you in July!

      Dear Alison.
Lovely to know you will be visiting us in July! We really appreciate your wonderful feedback, thank you so much.

    2. I did! Even went back a third time but there was nothing that caught my eye. The sale ends in a couple of weeks so I could definitely go back to take a look. The Dickens book was bought with that particular purpose in mind. Too bad I didn’t find more of his novels and boy, is that a ch#7uster!I&k821n;m glad to see you’re familiar with Aimee Bender’s work. Now I’m even more motivated to read it as soon as possible.I’ll let you know about the new Anne Rice series.

As English transplants to Houston Texas our family thoroughly enjoyed the service, food and peaceful surroundings. Watersports with instruction, a visit to the falls were only bested by the best cup of afternoon tea we’ve had since leaving the old country. The managers cocktail hour followed by the bbq and dinner on the beach were a nice way to mingle with other guests. Feeling relaxed.

The best holiday we ever had; yes we still dream about it and will definitely come back. With two teenagers who were never bored, we felt so welcome in a friendly, familiar way; very relaxed yet everything was perfect.
Thank you to your wonderful staff.

This will be our 10th Visit to your wonderful Island of Jamaica. We have stayed in Montego Bay and Negril the previous times. This will be our 1st visit to the Jamaican Inn in Ocho Rios and we are looking forward to it with great anticipation. Lastly our Son is working at the American Embassy in Kingston (he just started a 3 year tour there last August); so we are going to visit him and his wife to see the sights in Kingston for a few days and than go with them to vacation at the Jamaican Inn. The reason we keep coming back to the island of Jamaica is the Beautiful People there, the warm sunshine, and the calm, clear ocean.

Please keep in touch and if you need anything do let us know. You can write to us at pr@jamaicainn.com see you soon!

You will never want to leave. I use pictures from our stay last year at the Jamaica Inn as stress therapy. I am trying to figure out if I can just start working there as a staff member(without them figuring it out) and never leave.
