The Luminous Lagoon, located in Trelawny, a mere 30 minutes away from Ocho Rios is said to be the largest and most brilliant of four in the world, a fact that continues to attract and awes visitors and scientists from around the world. The Blue Lagoon is surrounded by mangroves that foster the the growth of organisms that produce phosphorescent eerie light when disturbed. As the boat navigates through the lagoon and the water is disturbed these microorganisms light up! Guests who wish to swim in amidst the lights can experience the glow all around them as they splash and swim. Glistening Waters team has a fleet of boats and can house up to 30 persons at a time.
