Hello friends,
We’d like to share with you some exciting news on some of our Foundation efforts and support.
For those of you who may not already know, the Jamaica Inn Foundation was set up a few years ago as a non-profit organisation to provide support to our local community. The foundation functions to facilitate the education and well being of our youth as well as to aid with the on – going efforts to preserve the surrounding marine environment.
In an effort to raise funds for the Ocho Rios Fish Sanctuary, the Jamaica Inn Foundation presented its inaugural Backgammon Fundraising Tournament in Association with our main sponsor Jamaica National. The weekend event occurred on property on October 28th– 30th, 2016 and was fully supported with 28 participants on both nights.

Oracabessa Volleyball Team –
We are also in the process of supporting a small but important Volleyball Team in our Community. The Oracabessa High School Volleyball Team play across the island and are driven and focused to learn the game. They are led by Coach and Teacher, Adrian Ramdeen who is passionate about teaching them the right skills to win and work together as a team.
We at The Foundation are very keen to support where we can with items needed in terms of equipment – volleyball nets, training balls, as well as shoes and outfits for the team to keep them playing and focused.

500 in 5 –
The mission of the Sanctuary is “500 in 5”, which simply means we intend to have 500 percent more fish within the sanctuary boundaries in five years! Our goal is to have the sanctuary open in January 2017.
