New Year's Eve at the Inn

January 7, 2014

New Year’s Eve was a fabulous occasion at Jamaica Inn. The hotel looked glamorous with glittery lights and candles set up all over the property.

The evening’s festivities commenced with a rooftop cocktail party at 8 p.m. set up with bistro tables and white couches overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Guests were welcomed with a glass of champagne upon arrival and our lovely Jamaica Inn servers offered a delicious array of mouthwatering appetizers, including salmon and vegetable sushi. An oyster bar was also on-hand for guests to tantalize their taste buds before dinner.

From grilled lobster, smoked salmon, lamb, roast beef, Caribbean-style escovitch fish, pimento-smoked blue marlin, roasted yellowtail snapper, roland of goose, grilled shrimp and Alaskan king crab legs to a sumptuous array of salads, cold cuts and a decadent pasta station, Chef Maurice and his team worked assiduously all day to create and delight.
Tables were setup on the beach directly in front of the stage where the live band performed until midnight. After the New Year countdown, DJ Marc took over with a wonderful repertoire of old and new tunes. Everyone took to the dance floor, some staying all night!
At midnight, beautiful sky lanterns were released into the air. Guests made their wishes for the New Year as the lanterns drifted out of sight. The bonfire on the beach added to the romantic ambiance. Many attendees commented that the entire setting looked like “something out of a fairy-tale.”

It was a wonderful way to welcome 2014, and one we will talk about for a long time to come. Congrats to General Manager Kyle and team for orchestrating such a successful and memorable event.
Happy New Year to all! We hope to welcome you to your home away from home this year.
