There we check in at the famous Jamaica Inn. Since 1950, sun-seekers have been pampered here, who value a stylish ambience and privacy at the same time. The many VIPs also appreciate that. On old photos we discover Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, who spent their honeymoon here. Katherine Hepburn and Errol Flynn were also among the famous guests who vacationed at the Jamaica Inn. James Bond inventor and writer Ian Fleming is also said to have had a martini or two at the bar.

I love the historic ambience. It seems as if time has stood still. Of course, the house has adapted to modern times, but has retained its original charm. The long-standing employees could probably tell us a lot, but discretion is the top priority, despite the family atmosphere.

The spacious garden invites you to take a stroll. I could watch the waves play for hours on the hotel’s own beach. The Jamaica Inn is a stylish haven of tranquility in otherwise bustling Ocho Rios. It’s too bad that I was only able to enjoy this gem for just under 24 hours.
