We salute Kenneth at The Ocean Spa!

It was only last year that Kenneth Hylton commenced working at The Ocean Spa as a Therapist. Before that he had worked at the Couples Sans Souci for six years and just loved being in the Hospitality industry.

Kenneth has always had a passion for the Wellness Industry and he reiterated that it was Sheree Jackson, the Director of our own Ocean Spa who encouraged him to try to get his foot in the door into the Spa and Wellness business from back in 2007.

Jump to early 2016 and Kenneth has received the Spa Award “Therapist of the year” from The Ocean Spa!  It is on that note that we sat down to chat with Kenneth and find out more about him.

The Ocean Spa Team and Awards

First of all, Kenneth is quick to point out that the Team at The Ocean Spa are a dedicated and passionate team, which is obvious if you have ever had a treatment there. From the minute you step into the Reception area you are greeted so warmly – and the the Therapists are all well trained and love what they do.  This is one of the major reasons why The Spa as won a few prestigious awards so far.


Kenneth, who has been working at The Ocean Spa a little more than a year, was recently awarded “Therapist of the year.”

Passion and Enthusiasm

Since day one, Kenneth has shown a passion for what he does and an on-going effervescent enthusiasm, simply because he loves what he does. Kenneth is frequently referred to on Trip Advisor and it is because of his passion why he continues to be written up as a wonderful and caring Therapist. Always with a smile on his face and a can do attitude, he definitely shines among an already wonderful and dedicated Team!

Kenneth also loves working at Jamaica Inn because of the ’boutique’ brand of hotel, not being too large and just the perfect size so that guests can receive top service not only from the staff they come into contact with at the hotel, but also at the Spa. He feels that as a smaller hotel, the staff are very team oriented and love welcoming guests back to “their second home.”

Kenneth has been in the Hospitality Industry for awhile, and no matter what department he has worked in, he has always reached for a higher goal, to make each and every guest he meets feel special.  He also loves working for Owners, The Morrow’s, and GM Kyle Mais, as well as Ocean Spa Director – Sheree Jackson as they are all eager to keep moving forward and have open minds when it comes to what is needed at The Spa.  For example, the beautiful and unique Sauna that was just added in the “jungle garden” is a wonderful asset. At The Ocean Spa, he certainly does not mind being called in if he is on a day off, or to work longer hours, albeit the team have a wonderful schedule that allows for up to three days off.

Time off

Kenneth loves relaxing and getting to know the town of “Ochi” on his days off. He enjoys working out in the Gym six days per week, playing football and patronizing the restaurants around Town. He also attends Church every Saturday. He has many goals in terms of what he would like to do in the future, including owning his own Spa one day down the road, but for now Kenneth is super happy where he is, right at The Ocean Spa, working with a fantastic team and hotel.
